I have a network set up with Opendns which doesn't seem to work any more. With a commercial hosting service (i.e your domain sits on their server) and there's(plenty of really cheap ones around - depending on what you want to do then you don't need this stuff any way as it's all handled by the hosting service own DNS to propagate your domain around the Internet - and you can get free email too from these domains.
